The YPLA was launched in April 2010 with the mission of championing education and training for young people in England. YPLA is sponsored by the Department for Education and exist to support the delivery of training and education to all 16 – 19 year olds in England.

Its work includes:

• Funding learning opportunities for 16-19 year olds
• Funding and supporting academies
• Funding support for young learners
